Q. The induced emf in a coil rotating in a magnetic field is maximum when the angle between the plane of the coil and the direction of field is :

Electromagnetic Induction

Solution:

$E = E_o$ sin $\theta$, where $\theta$ is the angle between $\overrightarrow{B}$ and area vector $\overrightarrow{S}$ of the coil. Since $\overrightarrow{S}$ is perpendicular to the surface, therefore when the angle between plane of the coil and the magnetic field is zero, the $\theta$ = 90. Hence $E = E_o$
