$ \beta $ cells of islets of Langerhans of pancreas secrete the hormone insulin. Pancreas is an endocrine as well as exocrine gland (i.e., a heterocrine gland). Insulin is also called as hypoglycaemic or anti diabetic factor, because it decreases the blood glucose level and prevents diabetes.
