Solution:

According to VSEPR theory, the electron pairs around the central atom arrange themselves in such a way that the repulsion between them is minimum.
If the central atom has a total of six electron pairs around the central atom, then the geometry is square bipyramidal or octahedral. Example of such a molecule is $SF_{6}$ .
