Solution:

Two genes play a role in cancer. These are oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes. Oncogenes are cancer or tumour-causing genes while tumour suppressor genes suppress the tumour. Oncogenes encode for a protein that starts harming the normal cells and thus they start becoming tumours.
