Solution:

The gas released into upper atmosphere from engine of supersonic transport plane is nitric oxide (NO). It reaches into the stratosphere, reacts with ozone and causes its depletion.

$NO + O _{3} \longrightarrow NO _{2}+ O _{2} $

$O _{2} \overset{UV}{\to} NO +[ O ]+[ O ]$

$NO _{2}+[ O ] \longrightarrow NO + O _{2}$
