Solution:

The functional megaspore (haploid) represents the first cell of the female gametophyte. Its nucleus undergoes three mitotic divisions to form eight nuclei. When mature female gametophyte or embryo sac is formed it has two polar nuclei, three antipodals, one egg and two synergids.
