The extra embryonic membranes of mammalian embryo are derived from trophoblast. After the cleavage of the zygote, blastocyst is formed. Then, trophoblast, the epithelial layer surrounding the blastocyst is formed. This trophoblast cells are destined to form most of the extra embryonic membranes in mammals.
