Solution:

A major component $(20-50\%)$ of the eukaryotic genome consists of DNA which does not code for any protein. These portions consist of certain base sequences which are repeated many times (hence, called repetitive DNA). DNA of prokaryotes does not contain histones - nor it is single stranded.
