Q. The equivalent resistance of a group of resistances is $R$. If another resistance is connected in parallel to the group, its new equivalent becomes $R_{1}$ and if it is connected in series to the group, it new equivalent becomes $R_{2}$. Then

Current Electricity

Solution:

In parallel combination the equivalent resistance is less than the two individual resistances connected and in series combination equivalent resistance is more than the two individual components.
