The standard equation of a wave of amplitude a is given by
$ y = a cos (\omega t - kx) ...(i)$
where, $\omega$ is angular veiocity, k the wave number and t there time.
Wavelength $ \, \, \, \lambda = \frac{2 \pi}{k} = \frac{2 \pi}{\pi} = 2 \, cm$
