Q. The energy stored in a $50\, mH$ inductor carrying a current of $4\, A$ is__________

AP EAMCETAP EAMCET 2020

Solution:

Given, $L=50\, mH =5 \times 10^{-2} H$
$I=4 A$
$\therefore $ Energy stored in the inductor is given as
$E=\frac{1}{2} L I^{2}=\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 10^{-2} \times 4^{2}$
$=0.4\, J$
