Q. The electrostatic potential due to an electric dipole at an equatorial point is

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

The electrical potential of a dipole is given by,
$V=\frac{1}{4 \pi ε_{0}}\frac{p . \hat{r}}{r^{2}}$
At equatorial plane $\theta =\pi /2$ , therefore, electric potential at any point in the equatorial plane of a dipole is zero.
