Gossypium, Hibiscus, Abelmoschus are belongto family-Malvaceae. The fruits of Abelmoschus esculentus (ladys finger-bhindi) are used as vegetables. Fibres are obtained from the seeds of Gossypium hirsutum (kapas) and used id manufacture of textiles, rubber tyre fabrics and other woven products.? The cotton seed and cake are used as fodder and the edible oil is obtained from seed. The fibres are obtained from the stem of Hibiscus cannabinus (patsan). These are used for making ropes, cordage and paper pulp and the seed oil is edible.
