WBJEEWBJEE 2010Inverse Trigonometric Functions

Solution:

$f(x)=\sqrt{\cos ^{-1}\left(\frac{1-|x|}{2}\right)}$
$[\because$ The value of cos lies between $-1$ to $+1$ ]
$-1 \leq \frac{1-|x|}{2} \leq 1$
$\Rightarrow -2-1 \leq-|x| \leq 2-1$
$\Rightarrow -3 \leq-|x| \leq 1$
$\Rightarrow -1 \leq|x| \leq 3$
$\Rightarrow x \in[-3,3]$
