Q. The difference between amylose and amylopectin is

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Biomolecules

Solution:

Amylose and amylopectin are polymers of $\alpha $ - D- glucose, so $\beta $ -link is not possible. Amylose is linear with $1 \rightarrow 4 \, \alpha $ -linkage whereas Amylopectin is branched and has both $1 \rightarrow 4$ (for linear chain) and $1 \rightarrow 6 \, \alpha $ -linkages (for branching).
