Solution:

For an nth order reaction
$ {{t}_{1/2}}\propto \frac{1}{{{a}^{n-1}}} $
$ \therefore $ For 1st order reaction,
$ {{t}_{1/2}}\propto \frac{1}{{{a}^{1-1}}}\propto {{a}^{o}}. $
