Q. The current amplification factor $\alpha$ of a common base transistor and the current amplification factor $\beta$ of a common emitter transistor are not related by

Semiconductor Electronics: Materials Devices and Simple Circuits

Solution:

As $\beta = \frac{\alpha}{1-\alpha}$,
so $\alpha = \frac{\beta}{1+\beta}$ and $\frac{1}{\alpha} = \frac{1}{\beta} +1$
