Solution:

Sodium chloride $(NaCl)$ has face centred cubic structure. It contains $4Na^{+}$ and $4Cl^{-}$ in the unit cell. Each $Na^{+}$ is surrounded by $6Cl^{-}$ ions and vice-versa.
