Solution:

Starch is a homoglycan polysaccharides consist of $D$ glucose chain joined by $1,4 \,\alpha- D$ polyglucosidic bonds. Its chemical formula is $\left( C _{6} H _{10} O _{5}\right)_{ n }$ which comprises two main component water soluble amylose (about $20 \%$ ) and water insoluble amylopectin (about $80 \%$ ).
