Copper salt, when dissolved in ammonical solution, forms a deep blue complex, named tetra amine copper (II) ion. $ C{{u}^{2+}}+4N{{H}_{4}}OH\xrightarrow{{}}\,\underset{\begin{smallmatrix} \text{Tetraamine}\,\text{copper}\, \\ \,\,\,\,\,\,\text{(II)}\,\text{ion}\,\text{(blue)} \end{smallmatrix}}{\mathop{{{[Cu{{(N{{H}_{3}})}_{4}}]}^{2+}}}}\,+4{{H}_{2}}O $
