Q. The angular momentum of an electron is zero. In which orbital may it be present?

CMC MedicalCMC Medical 2008

Solution:

$ \because $ Angular momentum $ =\sqrt{l(l+1)}\frac{h}{2\pi } $ If angular momentum of an electron is zero then the value of $ l $ is also zero, therefore the electron may be present in s-orbital i.e. 2 s-orbital
