Q. The amount of liquid flowing per second in the tubes (1), (2) and (3) are 10 $m^3/s$, $5 \,m^3/s$ and $8 \,m^3/s$ respectively. The velocity of liquid in the tube (4) having cross-section of $0.5 \,m^2$ isPhysics Question Image

Solution:

$Q_4 + 10 +5 -8 = 0$
$Q_4 = 7m^3/s$
$\therefore 0.5v = 7$
$v = \frac {7}{0.5} = \frac {70}{5}=14\,m/s$
