Since genetic code is degenerate in nature, one amino acid can be coded by more than one codon. Amino acid Isoleucine is coded by three codons, AUU, AUC, AUA. Tryptophan is coded by UGG a single codon and serine is coded by six codons UCU, UCA, UCC, UCG, AGC and AGU. Four codons CCU, CCC, CCA and CCG codes for proline.
