Q.
The $6\, V$ Zener diode is shown in figure has negligible resistance and a knee current of $5\,
mA$. The minimum value of R (in $\Omega$) so that the voltage across it does not fall below 6 V is

Solution:
In Zener diode,
$\Rightarrow \, \frac{V_{\max }-V_{Z}}{R} \ge I_{\text {knee }}+I_{2}$
$\Rightarrow \, \frac{10-6}{50} \geq 5\, m +I_{R}$
$\Rightarrow \, I_{R} \leq 80\, m -5 m$
$\because I_{R_{\max }}=75 mA$ and $I_{R_{\min }}=80\, mA$
