In prokaryotic cells, the nucleus is in primitive form. In this nucleus nuclear membrane and histone proteins are absent, so the nucleus is present in scattered form. This nucleus is called the incipient nucleus/nucleoid/genophore. Bacteria, mycoplasma, archaebacteria, and cyanobacteria (Blue-green algae) all are prokaryotes with primitive nucleus.
