Solution:

Both sweet potato and turnip are the modification of root. Sweet potato is a type of adventitious roots and it is modified to store food materials and the edible tuberous root is long and tapered, while turnip is a type of taproot. For food storage, ginger, potato, Colocasia are underground stem modification. As both sweet potato and turnip have the same function, but different structure they are called homologous.
