Succus entericus is intestinal juice secreted by the duodenum. This contains many enzymes like maltase, sucrase, nucleotidases, nucleosidases, dipeptidases, lipases, etc. It also contains mucus. Food when enters the duodenum is first acted upon by pancreatic juice and then by intestinal juice. This also contains enterokinase which activates enzymes of pancreatic juice especially trypsinogen.
