Some examples of recent extinctions include the Dodo endemic in Mauritius, Quagga endemic in Africa, Dodo endemic in Mauritius, Thylacine endemic in Australia, Steller's Sea Cow endemic in Russia and three subspecies of tiger. Passenger pigeon and Steller's sea cow were hunted by humans leading to their decrease.
