Q. Statement I : The ratio of inertial mass to gravitational mass is equal to one.
Statement II : The inertial mass and gravitational mass of a body are equivalent.

Gravitation

Solution:

Inertial mass and gravitational mass are equivalent. Both are scalar quantities and measured in the same unit. They are quite different in the method of their measurement. Also gravitational mass of a body is affected by the presence of other bodies near it whereas internal mass remain unaffected.
