Solution:

Recombinant DNA technology has been very effective in therapeutic drug production, and in healthcare. At present, about 30 recombinant therapeutics produced through RDT have been approved globally and 12 of these are being sold in India.
Advantages of recombinant therapeutics:
1. Enables mass production.
2. Safe and more effective drugs.
3. Do not induce unwanted immunological responses as is common in the case of similar products isolated from non-human sources.
