Q. Statement 1: $FeI_3, CuI_2, PbI_4$ do not exist but $FeF_3, CuF_2, PbF_4$ exist.
Statement 2: $F_2$ having highest oxidising power whereas $I_2$ having least oxidising power among halogens

The d-and f-Block Elements

Solution:

$Fe^{3+}, Cu^{2+},$ and $Pb^{4+}$ are the strong oxidising ions which react with reducing ion $I^{-}$ to produce $I_2, e.g., Pb^{4+} + 4I^{-}\to Pbl_2 + I_2$
