Q. Statement 1: Beryllium does not impart any characteristic colour to the Bunsen flame
Statement 2: Due to its very high ionization energy, beryllium requires a large amount of energy for excitation of the electrons

The s-Block Elements

Solution:

The valence electrons in beryllium is too strongly bound to get excited by flame. Hence beryllium element does not impart any colour to the flame
