On germination, each haploid spore produces a filamentous juvenile gametophyte called protonema.
Protonema bears $2$ types of branches i.e., non green, functioning as rhizoids and green bearing buds to form moss plant.
The female sex organ of Funaria is called archegonium. The male sex organ of Funaria is called antheridium.
