Q. Spirogyra filaments increase in length due to division in:

Solution:

Spirogyra is a filamentous, unbranched green algae. It consists of cylindrical green cells arranged one above the other. The length of Spirogyra filament increases as a result of transvers divisions in all the green cells. Colourless portion only helps in the attachment of the filament to the substratum.
