Solution:

Laterite soils are formed through a process called laterisation in which silica dissolves and leaches downwardly but iron and aluminium remain on the top soil. Alluvial soils are transported soils which have been formed by siltation of river and sea. Podsol is gray-ash-like surface as a result of leaching.
