The process of excretion of nitrogen wastes chiefly in form of uric acid is called uricotelism and the animal are called uricotelic animals. Some of the uricotelic animals are land reptiles (lizard and snakes) birds, most insect and most of the land crustaceans. Ammonotelic animal eliminate chiefly ammonia as excretory material, while urea is the excretory material of ureotelic animals. Tadpole and crocodiles, earthworm, leech, prawn are ammonotelic animal. Mammal cartilaginous fishes, earthworm (both ammonotelic and ureotelic) are ureotelic animals.
