Q. Simmondsia chinensis is an oil yielding plant of Mexico and it has been recently introduced in Indian deserts. What is the common name of this plant?

: Simmondsia chinensis is commonly known as jojoba or hohoba. Its seeds contain 50% of liquid wax by weight which is having same quality as sperm whale oil. This is used as lubricant. It is true drought resistant dioecious plant which can grow in xerophytic conditions.
