Q. Sensitivity of a moving coil galvanometer can be increased by

MHT CETMHT CET 2015

Solution:

Sensitivity of a galvanometer is the deflection produced for a unit current flowing through it, i.e.
$\frac{\phi}{l}=\frac{N B A}{C}$
To increase the sensitivity of a galvanometer, we should
(i) increase the number of turns $(N)$ of coil
(ii) increase the area of coil $(A)$
(iii) use a powerful magnet
