Sella turcica or 'Turkish saddle' is a depression in the floor of the mammalian skull in the sphenoid (Basi sphenoid) bone. The pituitary gland is located in a bony cavity called sella tursica and is attached to the hypothalamus by a stalk. It is divided anatomically into an adenohypophysis and a neurohypophysis.
