Q. Select the least reactive carbonyl compound for nucleophilic addition.

Aldehydes Ketones and Carboxylic Acids

Solution:

In benzophenone the carbonyl group is flanked by two bulky phenyl groups and it would be least reactive towards nucleophilic addition due to steric hindrance. The incoming nucleophile will be highly sterically hindered.
