Column I Column II
A Tyrosine P Essential amino acid
B Serine Q Ceric ammonium nitrate
C Tryptophan R Neutral $FeCl _{3}$
D Proline S Carbylamine test - Negative

AIIMSAIIMS 2019Biomolecules

Solution:

(A) Tyrosine $\rightarrow$ Tyrosine gives neutral $FeCl _{3}$ test.
(B) Serin $\rightarrow$ It contains alcohol group $(- OH )$ and thus will give positive test on reaction with Ceric ammonium nitrate.
(C) Tryptophane $\rightarrow$ An essential amino acids needed for normal growth in infants and for nitrogen balance in adults.
(D) Proline $\rightarrow$ It contains secondary amine group and thus does not give positive carbytl amine test.
