Solution:

In the diplotene stage, the synaptonemal complex starts dissolution or disintegrating and the chromosomes start separating after crossing over. Recombination nodules contain a recombinase enzyme which helps in the process of recombination. Separation of homologous chromosomes (bivalent) occurs during anaphase I and this is known as disjunction, it results in a reduction in chromosome number to half. In anaphase II chromatids of a chromosome separate to opposite poles with the splitting the centromere taking place. Interkinesis is the resting stage between two meiotic divisions and generally short-lived.
