Solution:

In a tap root system, primary root is the most prominent vertical root that is formed from radicle. It is negatively geotropic. Primary root branches to produce secondary roots which in turn produce tertiary roots. In orientation, secondary roots are horizontal or oblique and are hydrotropic in nature.
