Cranial nerves and spinal nerves form the peripheral nervous system. It has myelinated or medullary axons. Myelin sheath is deposited on the axons of PNS by Schwann cells. Myelin sheath is deposited on the axons of CNS by Oligodendrocytes. There is no myelin sheath in autonomoic nervous system.
