CMC MedicalCMC Medical 2013

Solution:

The ratio of the volume of $ C{{O}_{2}} $ liberated to the volume of oxygen absorbed per molecule during respiration is called Respiratory Quotient (RQ). RQ value for carbohydrates is 1 or unity as amounts of $ C{{O}_{2}} $ and $ {{O}_{2}} $ are equal because carbohydrates contain equal amounts of carbon and oxygen.
