RNA is ribonucleic acid, which is a genetic material. It contains ribosome sugar and instead of pyrimidine, thymine, uracil base is present. The nucleosides of RNA are called ribosides and nucleotides are called ribotides. More commonly RNA is a single stranded structure consisting of an unbranched polynucleotide chain, but it is often folded back on itself forming helices.
