ManipalManipal 2006Semiconductor Electronics: Materials Devices and Simple Circuits

Solution:

The semiconductor, no covalent bond breaks at $0 K$, so, no electron is free at $0 K .$ At room temperature some covalent bonds break, so, some electrons and holes become free. More covalent bonds break at high-temperature and so, number of free electrons increases at high temperature.
