Q. Read the following statements and select the incorrect statements.
(i) The cytoplasmic increase is not a discontinuous process
(ii) The cell cycle is not a genetically controlled process
(iii) Synthesis phase synthesizes cell organelles only
(iv) Interphase is not metabolically inactive

Solution:

Cell growth during cell division is a continuous process and occurs through cell cycle, but interphase is the metabolically the most active phase. The cell cycle is a genetically controlled process. Synthesis of organelle occurs during the G1 phase and DNA replication occurs only during S-phase of the cell cycle.
