Solution:

Gymnosperm grows in the temperate snow-covered area which is physiologically dry thus they show xerophytic adaptations. In Cycas, coralloid roots are associated with blue-green algae. All gymnosperms are heterosporous as they produce two types of spores, smaller microspores and large megaspores. In conifers, leaves are modified into pointed needles to reduce surface area.
