Tubectomy is the method of female sterilization, which involves cutting and tying (tubal ligation) of fallopian tube. Vasectomy is the sterilization method of male, in which vas deferens is cut just above the epididymis. Hence, the purpose of both tubectomy and vesectomy is to prevent fertilization.
